In keeping with our mission to build the creative workforce of tomorrow, Light Bringer Project serves the Pasadena Unified School District by providing work-based learning opportunities for three secondary arts academies, including Pasadena High School (CAMAD), John Muir Early College Magnet (AEM), and Marshall Fundamental Secondary School (ACI). As Pathway Industry Connectors, we are privileged to be positioned at our District’s community-based schools, which include the neighborhoods our organization proudly serves. Light Bringer Project also occupies a leadership position with the Advisory Boards at all three Academies.

what is work-based learning?
It is a hands-on model by which students learn about work–through work–and for work. They do this by job shadowing, work site visits, career day seminars, art integrated projects, and by engaging directly with our creative industry partners. Strengths are also bolstered through mentorship, team work, and presentations. Internships are a hallmark of Work-Based Learning. Over the laster year, Light Bringer Project placed over 90 students at 25 arts and cultural sites. In the end, students move forward with more social capital, increased skills, and understanding for the next stage of their creative career journey.
